How Does The Laser Work?

The laser emits a gentle beam of energy that passes through the skin to the hair follicle. The energy is then transformed to heat which damages the follicle.

How Do I Know If I’m A Good Candidate For Laser Hair Removal?

Nearly every one is a candidate for hair removal with cynosure laser. The most dramatic results occur for patients with light skin and dark hair, but TKS (thermokinetic selectivity) makes it possible for patients with darker skin to receive greater benefit from the procedure.

Is The Treatment Painful?

Most patients describe the treatment as a series of slight pinpricks to the skin. The majority of our patients tolerate this sensation without requiring anesthetics.

We always use “Smart Cool” cold air analgesia as well as topical analgesia to make the treatment pain free and comfortable.

For our patients we offer topical analgesia and vibrational analgesia if so desired.

How Would The Area Look After The Treatment?

Within about 30 minutes of treatment the area may become pink or red and this may last from a few hours to one day.

How Many Treatments Are Required?

Hair grows in cycles. The laser only affects hair when it is in it’s in its early growth phase. (anagen) The laser will disable follicles that are actively producing hair at the time of treatment. At any time, some hair follicles are dormant. Repeat sessions will treat these follicles when they reenter the growth phase.
