Radiesse Patient Information Summary
- Radiesse consists of a gel carrier and minute synthetic particles of calcium hydroxylapatite a mineral found in the body.
- No pre-testing or allergic reactions
- As the gel breaks down and goes away, the bodies own collagen and new tissue forms around the tiny particles over the next several months the particles breakdown and completely get absorbed by the body.
- For long term results Radiesse usually consists of two treatments. The 1st treatment lays a new tissue foundation and the 2nd treatment is a touch up to fine tune and lengthens your result.
- The ability to stimulate new collagen and tissue production varies from person to person. Common variables are age, lifestyle and genetics.
- It takes about 6 weeks for the carrier to break down and new tissue to form a good formation. Thus you may be asked to return 6-8 weeks after your initial treatment to assesses the results of your individual tissue response
- The aging process does not stop- over time a gradual loss of your correction is to be expected.
- Radiesse is unique in that each injection stimulates more collagen and more tissue regeneration enabling you to maintain your results for as long as you would like with periodic small touch up treatments. It is your own tissue that creates long term results.
What to Expect Post Filler Injection Summary
- Filler is injected in the skin after numbing the area to be injected and massaged it into the desired area.
- Within the first few minutes of injection you may experience a mild to moderate amount of stinging or a deep toothache sensation that could last 5-15 minutes.
- Pinkness in the area can be easily covered with makeup
- When you first look in the mirror after injections the tissue may look distorted or uneven. The distortion/unevenness is a result of injection and swelling in the tissue. This is normal; it will subside and look natural over the next few hours.
- With injection you may have a bruise
- Minimal to moderate swelling can be expected for a few days
- It is normal to experience some tenderness at the treatment site for a few days.
- Swelling causes the tissue to feel firm. The swelling will dissipate and the tissue will soften over the next 4-5 days.
- Much more accurate results are seen after 7 days.
